Frioul Metropolitain Training Center – Marseille
INFORMATIONS
The Frioul Training center was created in 2022 by the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis to host athletes preparing for the Olympic Sailing Games in Marseille in 2024.
Located on the Ile du Frioul, the metropolitan training base offers an unobstructed view of the race area. The athletes who come to train appreciate the quietness of the place, the space available, the facilities and the proximity to the water.
Delegations can choose to bring their containers and trailers to the site, but can also choose to reach the centre by boat from the old port or the Pointe Rouge.
The setting up of the centre has allowed for extensive cleaning work to be carried out on the area. The athletes have access to modular premises (shower rooms, meeting rooms, rest rooms) which will be reused after the Games for other projects in the city.
In 2022, athletes from around ten different countries came to train. They all want to come back for 2023 to train in the best conditions for the 2024 events.
