The Arena is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region in Aix-en-Provence, south of France. A dynamic city where residents enjoy a great lifestyle. Also known to be the homeland of historic painter Paul Cézanne who derived his inspiration from the beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage. This city provides a large and varied choice of hotel packages combined with well-developed and accessible public transportations system. Furthermore, Aix-en-Provence is at the crossroads of different highways strategically connecting Northern France, Spain and Italy. The proximity of the city centre to major transportation hubs makes the city accessible for both visitors and residents. The Aix-TGV station in 15 minutes from the city downtown and offers direct connections to Paris in only three hours’ travel time; also the international airport Marseille Provence is a quick 25 minute commute to the city. And finally, it is also possible to access the region by sea given its close proximity to the port of Marseille. As for health services, the Aix-Marseille Provence medical centre is considered one of the most efficient and advanced in France. The Arena’s sports center is located on the outskirts of Aix, inaugurated in October 2017 and designed with the capabilities to host the largest international sporting competitions.

The Arena of the Pays d’Aix is built with the latest technical innovations with the newest construction trends of large sports stadiums and entertainment facilities. It was also designed to host the professional handball club of Pays d’Aix (PAUC Handball). Equipped with 2 competition rooms, the main hall offers a capacity of 7,000 seats in addition to atraining and competition room sustaining 989 seats. The latter is specially adapted for the practice of professional level handball with a court approved by the international federation, a unique design on the court floor with many different levels. Adding an adjoining gym with all the necessary equipment for practice and training required for this professional sport.

The Arena’s design and multifunctional concept is able to successfully host different types of sporting events and accommodates various formats of sports fans. The facilty is home to the club of pays d’Aix handball competing in the renowned National Handball League’s first division; one of the best handball championships in the world and top of the European Cup. The facility regularly hosts the organization of international meets such as the Volleyball Nations League and the Tennis Fed Cup.
