With less than 500 days to go before the start of the Paralympic Games, the French Goalball team organised a training camp in Saint-Martin-de-Crau from 21 to 23 April 2023. During these 3 days, the team led by Vivien Fournier wanted to play friendly matches against high level nations, like the Belgian national team.
The result was a victory in three organised matches: “It was a nice opposition and overall the matches were balanced with close scores,” said the French coach.
“These training camps are also an opportunity to exchange with the other teams, to share our experiences”.
The French men’s Goalball team is working hard to be ready for the games. Supported by the Bouches-du-Rhône Department, it will organise new friendly matches against Denmark from 6 to 9 July 2023 at the Creps in Aix-en-Provence. In the meantime, it will compete against the best in the discipline during the international tournament in Berlin.
“We are lucky to have adapted infrastructures in our territory and to be supported in our goal of the 2024 Paralympic Games. It is very important for us to feel surrounded”, concludes Vivien Fournier.
